Mentorship Brings New Perspectives
01/10/05
'A mentorship relationship between a painter and photographer has brought new perspectives to the work of both artists. Through the Helpmann Academy's Optus Mentorship Scheme, South Australian School of Art graduate Rossanne Pellegrino has been given the opportunity to be mentored by SASA lecturer Greg Donovan.'
'"The most valuable thing I have gained from the mentorship is a change perspective on the way I make photographic art. By introducing painting into photography the technical restraints that are often involved with producing photographic imagery are abandoned" [says Rossanne].'
'They have already set a date for their first joint exhibition riccordo, which explores the connection between landscape and human emotion; the way in which time and space alters the capacity to record memory.'
'"It will be a wonderful opportunity to both celebrate the mentorship program and the development of a professional collaborative relationship," says Greg.'
